This charming Grade II-listed thatched cottage is nestled in a peaceful part of East Devon. Located within easy reach of rolling countryside, stunning beaches and pretty market towns, this picture-perfect property makes a fabulous base for a family of four seeking outdoor adventures.

Your beautiful period property is cosy and welcoming for those chilly nights curled up in a blanket with your favourite pageturner and a soft glow radiating from the wood burner-effect electric fire. Step into the country-style kitchen, where a Rayburn range cooker and additional appliances provide the ideal setting for whipping up family-friendly dishes. You'll also find a table here with space for all guests, or instead, head out to the raised decking for dinner underneath rays of sunshine. When eyelids begin to droop, head upstairs to discover three charming bedrooms: a delightful double bedroom with a window seat, a second double room with a cosy cobbled wall, and a pretty single bedroom boasting desk space. Completing the accommodation is a handy bathroom.

Kilmington village offers visitors a pub serving ales and a farm shop (0.5 miles) to gather delicious local ingredients to rustle up home-cooked fare. Keen walkers will be spoiled for choice at the number of great walks in the area. Perhaps the most ambitious is the South West Coast Path (8 miles away), which contains 630 miles of incredible scenery passing many seaside towns and villages. A pretty stone cottage in the heart of Kilmington . Lovely neighbours and good location to explore Devon. The small garden is lovely and very dog friendly . However , the furnishings inside are tired, the lounge seating was extremely uncomfortable. The housekeeping was poor , oven was dirty, no grill pan or oven gloves, cobwebs and spiders nesRead morets around the cottage . The hoover wasn't working, and we had no hot water for 4 days . A few of the reviews i read before mentioned tired old towels. This is still the case . Sadly this cottage was not up to the standard we usually stay in . Disappointed Hide

We enjoyed our stay but the location is unsuitable for guests without transport. We had to rely on buses, which run 2 hourly , with none on Sundays. Apart from the very old, threadbare bath towels, everything was fine.

The cottage is quaint in a quiet village, parking can be an issue as sometimes you have look for a space. The pub which is a minute away is excellent great food at not too expensive in price
