Situated less than a mile from the South West Coast Path where there are scenic coastal views, this traditional fisherman’s cottage in Brixham offers a delightful stay to guests looking for a seaside retreat. Bright and airy with original features, nautical touches and accessed by steps up to the front door, this cottage has plenty of character. Wake up in one of the comfortable bedrooms and open the blinds to let the sun stream in, before heading to the terrace to soak up some morning rays over breakfast.

Enjoy a relaxed holiday by taking advantage of the sun terrace, also accessed by steep steps, or enjoying an al fresco drink in the enclosed courtyard. The interiors embrace the calming blue and white tones of the ocean, as do the attractive furnishings. The lounge boasts beautiful exposed beams and a lovely cosy wood-burner set within an attractive stone fireplace, so you can cosy up around roaring flames in the evenings. After a long day of exploring, wind down with a soak in the corner bath before retiring to bed either in the double room or up steep steps to the snug second-floor twin room.

As you’re less than a mile from the centre of town you can take your pick of pubs, bars and restaurants to enjoy in Brixham. For some history, visit the Brixham Heritage Museum or the replica of the Golden Hind (both less than 1 mile). Shoalstone is a popular beach among children and adults thanks to its tidal pool (2 miles). For more beaches and attractions, Torquay is a 9-mile drive, where the English Riviera Wheel provides stunning views and Dinosaur World is hugely popular with kids.

We had a lovely stay in Brixham. The property is in an ideal location for getting to the harbour and centre where there are lovely walks and places to stop for a drink or something to eat. We paid for a weeks pass for the carpark close by as we didnt have any luck with the suggested on road parking. The property itself was lacking in a few basic itRead moreems such as hand wash and the kitchen wasnt as well equipped as other reviews suggested. With a little bit more attention to detail and care, this property would be perfect. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend Brixham. Hide

We loved our stay at Holly Cottage. Its really comfortable and cosy - nice furnishings and comfortable mattresses. And its in a great location - so close to town (either on the road which is sloped or down steps). Parking was ok - we always found a spot within a two minute walking distance, and whilst there are double yellows outside the house, theRead moreres enough space to pull up and get your suitcases/shopping etc out before finding somewhere appropriate to park. Just dont park there all the time! The dogs loved their stay as well and are dreaming about going back! Hide

Lovely little cottage in a great location few minutes from the harbour. Kitchen is well equipped and main bedroom has comfortable double bed. The 2nd bedroom was ok. We knew it was a dog friendly cottage but I was not expecting such a strong dog smell in the living room. It was really uncomfortable. Overall the cottage appears unloved. It is up forRead more sale and there were pots with dead plants outside the front and the terrace. The windows desperately need a clean! Loved Brixham though! Hide

A lovely cosy, well equipped cottage for two, but the stairs to the top twin room are extremely narrow- I definitely wouldn't want to put children up there. Steps to the garden are also very steep. The location is perfect - close to everything, and Brixham is fab. We had a lovely stay.
