Experience peace and tranquillity in bucket loads with a stay in this gorgeous lodge, deep in the heart of the Devon countryside, yet just 11 miles from the seaside resort of Bude. You’ll be surrounded by woodland, which you’re welcome to explore, and the property looks out over a fabulous fishing pond. The lodge sleeps four guests, making it ideal for a small family getaway or couple’s retreat. The open-plan layout is perfect for socialising, and there’s also a delightful veranda where you can unwind with a glass of wine in the evening, admiring the idyllic view.

The warm and inviting lodge is decorated in a contemporary style and has a magnificent vaulted ceiling, creating a sense of space. With an open-plan layout, the property is perfect for entertaining. Prepare delicious meals in the stylish kitchen whilst chatting to your fellow guests on the sofas, before coming together for dinner around the dining table, overlooking the pond. After dinner, unwind in the cosy lounge area, where you can watch a film on the Smart TV whilst warming your toes in front of the wood burner. Outside, sip a morning coffee on the enclosed veranda whilst admiring the vast array of local wildlife.

Grab your buckets and spades and head to Widemouth Bay (14 miles). With nearly 2 miles of golden sand, it’s easy to find your own little spot to set up camp, even in the height of summer. Spend the day building sandcastles, rummaging in rock pools and surfing some of Cornwall’s best waves. For completely different scenery, journey 24 miles to Boscastle. Set deep in a ravine, this natural harbour is quite magical. Wander amongst the white-washed cottages before heading high above the village to explore the surrounding rugged landscape.

Lodge is set in a lovely rural part of Devon,ideal for peace and quiet, lots of fish in the lake so peaceful watching the birds Kingfisher,Mr Jay and the squirrels .Bude is lovely to visit lots of places further a field too. Lodge is comfortable and tidy little local shop and the village pub in Bradworthy is well worth a visit or 2 and they do takeRead moreaway which was great for when we first arrived. What an absolute hidden gem! Tranquility, peace & quiet and an abundance of birds and wildlife. The lodge is located in beautiful surroundings next to a fishing lake with a river and woodland right on the doorstep. The lodge was immaculate and had everything we needed. We had a great relaxing holiday.Very quiet position,with the local pub,butchers and general stores a 15 min walk away. Lovely owners who were local and helped with any issues( minor) promptly.Short drives to forest walks and wide sandy beaches.Think we had all aspects of the weather ,sunshine,rain ,sleet ,hail,snow ,wind and ice,it was March after Read moreall. A perfect stay! The lodge is immaculate and very well stocked up with all you will need. Hosts very friendly. Fishing was excellent with well looked after, healthy fish. Really recommend the fish and chip van in the village on a Wednesday night!! Will definitely return!

the lodge was beautiful, very clean, it had everything you need. the views were stunning. my husband got to fish every day on the lake and there were plenty of fish to catch. The owners made us feel very welcome. we will be returning

We have just returned from Waldon Valley. We had a absolutely wonderful time at a lovely place. We have stayed at many places over the years and this is by far the best. It's incredibly peaceful with superb fishing as a bonus. The lodge itself was spotless with plenty of room and tastefully decorated. The owners are very pleasant and friendly and wRead moreork very hard to keep the surroundings clean and tidy and in keeping with nature . Very clean, comfortable and with everything you need. It's such a lovely, peaceful location and the lake provides a perfect backdrop and attracts lots of wildlife. The stroll along the riverside is great and the dogs loved having space to run around. Honestly couldn't fault it and highly recommend, especially if you just want a few days of total reRead morest and relaxation. The coast isn't too far away either, so not too far to Saunton sands and other beautiful beaches are within easy reach. Hide

Beautiful lodge and well equipped with everything youll need. The location is stunning and ideal for our dog. The owners were lovely and met us on arrival. I would recommend the lodges to friends and family, we will be visiting again.

We really enjoyed our stay and were so lucky with the weather. Accommodation was very clean and comfortable providing everything we needed for your stay. Lovely walks around the property and along the river, so quiet and peaceful. Local pub within walking distance which provided lovely pub food and the dog was very welcome. The owners Derek and MonRead moreica are around if you need them and so interesting to stop and chat to. Fishing is good with the fish in excellent condition. Hide

Set in a beautiful location we really enjoyed a comfortable stay in Oak lodge. It was so peaceful and we enjoyed watching the kingfisher daily, watching sand martins fly over the lake and hearing the tawny owls at night. A lovely place to stay.
