In the delightful waterside village of Appledore, Aunties Cottage is as homely as it sounds. Bright rooms with cosy and contemporary furniture are fantastic spaces to relax in or enjoy a competitive games evening with family and friends. With a coal effect gas fire for added warmth on chilly evenings, put your feet up and unwind with your four-legged friends after exploring your beautiful surroundings.

Laid out over three floors, Aunties Cottage is the perfect hub for those who would love a taste of coastal living. Dine together in the bright, colourful dining area before cosying up in the lounge. Choose a game and challenge each other to a tournament or pick up a book and curl up for the evening. Returning from a seaside adventure, the outdoor shower is great for washing down wetsuits or cleaning up muddy paws. Head up the steps into the private courtyard garden for a reviving drink in the fresh air. The three bedrooms are beautifully decorated offering calming spaces to rest your head. The quirky ceiling in the top bedroom means headspace is restricted due to the charming eaves.

With beautiful views across the estuary, you can while away a day roaming the narrow streets of Appledore discovering galleries, local food and the North Devon Maritime Museum. If splashing in the ocean and picnicking on gorgeous sands is more your thing, head 3 miles to Westward Ho! for a great a beach day. Donkeys, cobbled streets and waterfalls can be found 14 miles from home at cliff-side village Clovelly. On your way home visit The Milky Way Adventure Park for rollercoaster rides and fun for younger members of the family.

Wonderful, cosy cottage, really warm and a home from home. Lots of pretty decor and lamps, absolutely love the automatic night lights which were ideal for the kids at night. Not too far from the centre of Appledore if you cut down Duke Street. Perfect garden for the dog. Really nice touch of a welcome pack, beds were all comfy and it was very quietRead more. Hide

We enjoyed a lovely week at this surprisingly big and well equipped house, in such a lovely destination, just a stroll downhill into the shops of Appledore and the Quayside. As a family of 5, with a dog, we didn't struggle for space- in fact the loft was a mini suite for our 14 year old.
