Experience serene surroundings when staying in this country cottage, located in a rural destination yet just 1 mile from the appeals of Lyme Regis. Traditionally appointed, the stone cottage offers a wonderful place for two guests to stay in romantic splendour, enjoying the cosy embrace of the lounge or sitting out in the sun by the picturesque ponds on the grounds. Adventures are assured each day with the Jurassic Coast just 1 mile away and the bucolic Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a short drive (12 miles), so be sure to pack your favourite walking boots as you set off to discover all that Devon has to offer.

Lovingly maintained with an inviting countryside aesthetic, this two-storey cottage will have you feeling right at home from the moment you arrive. The lounge/kitchen/diner is an utterly comfortable space to relax downstairs, complete with a wood burner-effect electric fire that emits a warm glow throughout the entire room. In the summer months, open one half of the stable-style front door and enjoy the fresh morning breeze whilst cooking in the kitchen. You can then step out and enjoy meals on the patio that’s directly outside. Back inside, head up to the first floor to find a bathroom and a double bedroom neatly tucked under the property’s eaves.

Leave your car behind and explore the surrounding area the organic way, visiting Lyme Regis Beach (1 mile), hunting for ammonite fossils at Lyme Regis Fossil Beach (2 miles) and admiring the scenery around the Cannington Viaduct (3 miles). For an effortless route to follow, take the Axmouth to Lyme Regis portion of the South West Coast Path to admire a solid portion of the Jurassic Coast. Heading away from the sea, the nearby market town of Axminster (5.5 miles) is worth a visit - follow the Axminster Art Trail to discover the town’s artistic flair.

The cottage is in a beautiful setting, the grounds are very attractive and well kept. Good parking by the cottages. Location is about a mile from Lyme Regis centre and an easy walk into town. However, may not be so easy for some people with mobility issues to walk back and the bus service was infrequent and not reliable when we were there. We vRead moreery much appreciated the welcome pack - a nice touch. Great communication from the owner Sue both before and during our stay. Hide

The cottage was cosy and the location lovely. The proximity to Lyme Regis was great but the hill back is very steep and not for anyone with breathing problems! We enjoyed our stay it was very quiet and relaxing.

The cottage itself was lovely and the location is very quiet and peaceful if that is what you are looking for. It was also ideally located for travelling in to Lyme and elsewhere along the main coast road. We loved the location. It was a very picturesque walk of approximately 40 minutes to Lyme beach front and was very straight forward.

Cottage is ideal for two people and is in a very peaceful setting. The walk through the fields to Lyme town takes about 30 minutes going and about 45 minutes coming back as it is uphill but well worth the walk. There is a park and ride which is good value given the cost of parking in Lyme.

The cottage was lovely and clean, it had everything we needed. It is in a lovely quiet position, over looking the communal garden is nice. The walk down by the river into Lyme was a pleasure, the walk back can be tiring. Had a nice meal in The Pilot Boat inn. Lovely friendly atmosphere in the micro brewery in town.

A lovely property in a beautiful location, so peaceful and we were very fortunate to have great weather. Couldnt believe the kitchen was the same as mine, even the worktop and tiles! We obviously both have good taste. Loved our stay and hope to come back. Shame park and ride was not running but enjoyed walking to bus stop. Highly recommend.

The cottage was really clean, warm, very comfortable, exceptionally well equipped and an ideal size for two people. The peace and quiet was wonderful - no traffic or people noise, the only sounds were birdsong - fantastic, a wonderful location for visiting the many towns/attractions in the area. Sadly we were unable to undertake the many local walkRead mores in the locality as unfortunately the weather was somewhat unpredictable. Hide
