This 17th-century cottage is a picture-perfect country cottage that offers families of four an idyllic rural getaway in the Devonshire countryside. Despite its green landscape, the property boasts proximity to the seaside of Croyde, which is famous for its superb sandy beaches, surfing community, olde-worlde charm and many delicious eateries to choose from.

As perfect on the inside as it is on the outside, this charming thatched cottage welcomes you to pop your bags down, make a cup of tea and nestle yourself in the pillowy sofa in the living room. Relax here with a film on the Smart TV and catch up with family and friends over glasses of wine and bowls of nibbles. Cook up tasty breakfasts, lunches, and dinners in the fully equipped kitchen and carry your meals to the cosy dining room or out to the pretty garden. This enclosed space offers beautiful views across the Devon landscape and has plenty of space for kids and dogs to play. There are two well-appointed bedrooms in the cottage, a double and a twin, as well as a family bathroom with a walk-in shower. Take the steep stairs down to the ground floor in the morning and enjoy your morning coffee outside in peaceful surroundings.

A stay in this cottage wouldn’t be complete without a trip down to the magical sands of Croyde Beach. While away the hours running along the sand dunes, building sandcastles or strolling around the shops, and finished off with scoops of ice cream from the traditional ice cream parlour. Other local beaches include Woolacombe, Saunton Sands and Putsborough, which are all within 2 miles. Keen trekkers will be spoilt for choice with the South West Coast Path routes. Exmoor National Park is a 13-mile drive; however, it’s well worth it for the woodland walks and deer spotting.

The cottage was clean and comfortable, well equipped with utensils. There was a strong, musty damp smell. There was no mention of having to drag you're luggage across the lawn and down a flight of steep steps to the cottage. There is a side gate, but it had been jammed shut next to a wall so could not be opened, which would've been more accessibRead morele. Hide

A wonderful cottage within walking distance of the village. A comfortable, large lounge; a well-equipped kitchen; and great walk-in shower. The garden is large, perfect for our dog, with table and chairs, and access to the parking at rear of cottage. As someone previously mentioned, the stairs are steep, but the cottage is over 400 years old, so soRead moreme compromises are to be expected. A good base for visiting the local area. Hide

After seeing a few slightly negative reviews, I was a little worried. But the cottage was great, 4 of us stayed, everything worked, parking was fine and location was great, being able to walk to the village was a real bonus.

Pretty cottage located in a lovely location, good amenities for walkers and dogs, close to excellent beaches. As someone who hosts a holiday property I felt the cottage although pretty, was lacking some care and attention, be prepared to take all beverage requirements and cooking basics as nothing was available on our visit.

A real 17th century character COTTAGE with everything a first-time cottage renter would expect.
