This impressive cottage situated in the pretty village of Appledore, is perfect for a group of friends or a family to enjoy a peaceful holiday and is an ideal base for discovering beautiful Devon attractions including Saunton Sands (17 miles) and the charming and unique clifftop village of Clovelly (13 miles). Appledore's cobbled lanes are filled with art galleries and independent shops and a short ride on the seasonal ferry will take you to Instow, with its sandy beach and famous deli.

Step into this attractive three-storey house and leave your everyday cares behind. From the entrance hall you walk into the bright and inviting open-plan living, kitchen and dining area, which has many thoughtful and distinctive furnishings, a tiled floor and feature fireplace. The living area has a wood burner for cosy evenings, making it a great choice all year round. Comfortable seating is perfect for small talk or to sit back and watch the Smart TV. The large dining area invites you to enjoy sociable meals and the kitchen is close by and equipped with all you need to rustle up some family favourites. The ground floor benefits from plenty of natural light from the windows off the dining area and the wet room shower is ideal for washing off sandy toes. On the first floor are a king-size bedroom and a twin with a washbasin. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC completes the first floor. Stairs lead to the top floor where you will find two other bedrooms - a spacious twin with Smart TV, beautiful high ceilings and exposed beams and a king-size with a four-poster bed, and a Smart TV. Outside, a shared cobbled courtyard leads to the quay where you can enjoy the views and take a stroll.

Nearby Westward Ho! (3 miles) showcases some of the best of Devon seaside holidays with two miles of golden sandy beach, the Royal North Devon Golf Course and Northam Burrows Country Park to entertain you. Alternatively, The Big Sheep attraction (4 miles) is ideal for a fun family day out.

We had a lovely stay at Popham House, it is in a perfect location just set back from the Quay. We love Appledore as it is such a lovely village and lots going on. The house does have step stairs but they were no issue for us and our 78 year old parents choose the top floor room. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bedrooms are all a good sizRead moree and the bathrooms are also great. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Hide

A very comfortable, well equipped cottage right in the heart of Appledore. We all loved staying there and would definitely stay again if we were to visit Appledore again. Perfect. The welcome goodies and flowers were a really nice touch too

Location, location, location! Stunning quay position (no views from house itself) with fantastic deli, grocer and restaurants not forgetting the ferry to in-stow right on your doorstep. Fab interior style, well stocked kitchen etc, quality bedding and toiletries. Lovely welcome pack particularly generous for dogs who loved their gifts. I took my wife away for her 60th with my son his wife and two children. Also my daughter who flew home from the USA. We love Appledore and have been coming here for over 40 years on and off. The cottage was perfect for us. In a great location for all the local amenities. Very comfortable cottage with all the facilities we needed. Thank you.
