Get in touch with your spiritual side at this converted chapel just 3 miles from pretty village Braunton. With beautiful bifold doors and stunning vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, you’ll soon see the true character of this property. Renovated to a high standard with contemporary decor throughout, the chapel retains its traditional roots through finishing touches and furnishings. Look out over the River Taw estuary from the home’s elevated position, sipping wine on the patio just three steps down from the lounge.

Whether you’re relaxing in the lounge taking in the views or sitting quietly in the enclosed garden, you’ll feel part of the countryside here. You’re reminded of the building’s original use in the kitchen/diner, where pews are made into benches and the old lectern is used as a bookcase. Nevertheless, the room has been brought into the 21st century with a football table for everyone to enjoy. Perfect for families of all ages, there’s a comfortable double bedroom on the ground floor with a Jack and Jill bathroom and two bedrooms upstairs that boast exposed stone and beams, one of which has the potential to be made into a king-size.

The cottage is set in a quiet location but there’s a pub just 2 miles down the road for a casual drink in the evenings, and the property has good road links to the wider area. Visit the historic Pannier Market in Barnstaple (4 miles), or take a trip to see Damien Hirst’s Verity on the harbour in Ilfracombe (10 miles). Be sure not to miss the rugged scenery of Exmoor (11 miles) and the South West Coast Path (13 miles).

Lovely cottage with a fabulous view to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. We had a wonderful family holiday with 6 adults, 2 babies and a dog, with plenty of room for all of us. Lots of lovely little villages to visit. Thoroughly recommend.

A comfortable and very interesting stay. Everything was in place when we arrived and we enjoyed the quirkiness of the chapel setting. Unfortunately the weather was not so good so we didn't spend so much time the garden and using the facilities there as we would have liked. We encountered one problem which we reported to the caretaker and her responRead morese was excellent. Although she was unable to remedy the problem whilst we were there, she kept us informed about what was happening and we became used to a darker kitchen because to the non operating blind! I would recommend this holiday property which offers comfort, wonderful views and every facility. Hide

We had a week in Dove Chapel cottage and felt very at home there. It was clean and well equipped. The beds were extremely comfortable. The garden was secure for our 2 cocker spaniels and the views from the back of the property were amazing. The cottage was well situated for coastal walks and beaches.

The view of the estuary is hypnotising. Dove chapel is very comfortable and stylish too. The enclosed garden was perfect for our elderly labrador. Lovely quality bed linen, great facilities and a welcome pack was a nice surprise

Dove Cottage is a lovely and very well equipped base for exploring north Devon and the coast. The views are stunning and the house is really comfortable with great beds! We loved this place. Stunning views from the lounge. The whole place had a restful feel. It was spacious and extremely clean and well cared for. We were a little worried about the proximity to the road and road side parking but we neednt have worried. Locals use the road as a cut through instead of the main road but this was only noticeable at rushRead more hour. Marwell Hill Garden was less than 2 miles away and was an amazing find. We all loved it - grown ups and children. Hide

We loved Dove Chapel. Stunning conversion, all mod cons and comfort. The view is outstanding. I think the biggest compliment is that we felt "at home" from the first evening.

Excellent place to stay, great location. The property was ideal for 4 of us and my parents. The bedroom and bathroom downstairs was perfect for my parents. Very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful views. Very clean and lovely decor. Enclosed garden was great, and use of BBQ and body boards was a bonus too. Overall a great place to stay.
