This charming holiday home is located in the pretty Devon village of Welcombe, where rolling countryside and dramatic coastline combine to create the perfect setting for an escape among friends and family. You’ll have a welcoming country inn less than 100 metres away, giving you a great option for drinks or dinner after days spent exploring the coast. Keen walkers can join the South West Coast Path (1.5 miles) for breathtaking cliff-top views and excellent opportunities for spotting seabirds and perhaps dolphins out at sea.
Set across a single floor, this spacious and light-filled property is perfect for relaxed holidays. The heart of the home is a large and airy open-plan living area with vaulted ceilings. The well-equipped kitchen features a traditional Rayburn (not for cooking) that adds a cosy warmth throughout the house during the cooler months. The dining area also has a wood burner for chilly evenings. A separate lounge with soft sofas, Sky TV, books and games is a lovely spot for relaxing together at the end of the day. There are three inviting bedrooms: a super-king-size with zip-and-link beds, a king-size and a twin, all served by two recently renovated family bathrooms. There’s plenty of space for relaxing outside, too, with a wraparound terrace where you can enjoy morning coffee or evening meals as you take in countryside views and distant glimpses of the sea. The large lawn also offers plenty of outdoor space to relax and play. You’ll have private off-road parking for three cars.
There’s plenty to discover nearby – Welcombe Mouth (1.5 miles), your nearest beach, is a secluded pebbled cove framed by rugged rock formations and fabulous for rock pooling and exploring fascinating geology. The beaches at Sandymouth (10 miles) and Northcott Mouth (12.5 miles) are also great options. You could also cross into Cornwall and spend the day in vibrant Bude (11.5 miles) or head to Summerleaze Beach (12.5 miles) for surf, sand and a much-loved sea pool for safe swimming.
