Unwind amidst the fresh air and glorious Devon scenery of this 300-acre working sheep farm. The detached cottage is ideal for couples or families and is within easy reach of beauty spots, friendly pubs, market towns and lovely beaches.

Get cosy in this charming cottage, a great place to de-stress and reconnect with nature. From the parking space, it’s three steps up to the door into the kitchen/diner, where the morning sun pours through the large windows and there are views over rolling hills – a wonderful place for a lazy breakfast. The welcoming lounge also has fabulous views, and in the evenings, you can draw the curtains and snuggle by the wood burner and Smart TV. The family bathroom is on this floor, while the two bedrooms – a double and a twin – are upstairs, both with sloped ceilings, original beams and ample storage space. There’s also a handy WC on the first floor. From the lounge, stone steps lead to an enclosed lawn, and off the kitchen, there’s a patio with furniture for al fresco meals. Best of all, you’ll find a children’s play area that’s exclusive to the cottage and is bound to be a hit with the younger members of your group.

Get into the great outdoors and explore the rugged scenery of Exmoor National Park. As well as walking you can ride, cycle or even canoe and, at the end of the day, you’ll find three great country pubs within 4 miles of the cottage in which to relax. The thriving market town of South Molton is 4 miles away (don’t forget to have a cream tea – the Devon way is clotted cream first, then jam on top), while Barnstaple is 14.5 miles and the beaches of Saunton Sands and Westward Ho! are both within 24 miles.

A well-equipped, cleverly designed cottage in a peaceful private setting, which made an excellent base for a small family break in June. Clean, tidy and thoughtfully laid out, it offered plenty of space for two adults and two children, with a great kitchen diner and an easy, relaxed feel throughout. The views across the countryside were idyRead morellic, the kind of rolling Devon scenery that makes you imagine a calmer life, complete with sheep pottering around as if auditioning for a postcard or photograph (we obviously took a few) and despite being on a farm, it was surprisingly calm and quiet. The outdoor seating was a lovely spot for an afternoon cup of tea, although a slightly comfier arrangement would not go amiss. The location worked brilliantly. Ten minutes to the local supermarket and within an hour of beaches, National Trust properties and most of north Devons highlights. Yes, you need to drive everywhere, but that is Devon, and this cottages central position worked well. If I am being picky, the duvets were a touch ambitious during a summer heatwave, and the beds lean towards the softer side. That is lovely for many, although I will pack my firmer pillow next time. And yes, I would happily return. Hide

Myself and my father spent a lovely week in this beautiful accommodation in South Molton. Firstly the location was amazing, on a working farm and surrounded by sheep. This detached converted barn was accessed by it's own driveway and included private parking and a lovely grass area out the front, with amazing views over the landscape. The area is vRead moreery peaceful and we enjoyed the company of the sheep and lambs that would come over to the fence when we was sitting on the terrace. We was both very pleased once inside the property, the size, the layout, the amenities and the comfort. Also, the property is spotless and the cleaning was to a very high standard. The location is great to visit many towns, villages and around 25 miles to some great beaches. And we can't forget Katie the owner of the property. Very helpful with advise and information regarding the local area, and always available to answer any questions we had. It was very interesting to learn about the farm too. We highly recommend this property, and to have a lovely owner in Katie around made our stay even better. Kind regards Justin and Keith Hide

We absolutely loved the Woodcutters Cottage. The location, the peace and quiet and the bird life, including pheasants and owls. We were within easy distance of some lovely walks and enjoyed some pub lunches in the surrounding villages. We always take one week a year of our holidays in a English holiday let and this cottage was one of the best we haRead moreve had. Hide

Fantastic holiday cottage with lovely countryside views. Kate, the owner, is lovely, offering local knowledge about the area. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, and very peaceful. Just the birds and the sheep to listen to. If we ever go back to that area we will definitely look at staying again.
