Alternatively, journey south, where you’ll find the popular seaside towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth (both within 13 miles). Both towns have a fantastic range of independent shops and eateries, and are great places to try a whole host of water sports. You’ll also find some of the county’s finest beaches, including Bigbury-on-Sea and Blackpool Sands.
