The picturesque towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth (both within 13 miles) make great days out, with their plethora of independent shops and eateries, not to mention stunning beaches and coastal walks. For something a bit different, hop on the steam train in Totnes to journey through the gorgeous landscape into Dartmoor National Park.
