This romantic bolthole boasts a quiet location surrounded by countryside. The area is a haven for walkers, with multiple routes from the property, as well as easy access to Dartmoor National Park and the South West Coast Path (both within 8 miles). From the holiday cottage, you can enjoy day trips to Burgh Island, Salcombe, and Dartmouth. In the evenings, return to your cosy cottage to watch a film on the sofa or dine alfresco in the BBQ area.

The single-storey barn conversion has an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom with an impressive, vaulted ceiling and exposed woodwork throughout. The cottage is warm and inviting, thanks to underfloor heating, and has a homely feel with artwork on the walls and cosy soft furnishings. Share dinners for two around the wooden dining table, before snuggling up on the sofa to watch TV. Steps lead to a mezzanine floor, where you’ll find the kitchenette. When it’s time to say goodnight, sink into the sumptuous king-size bed at the far end of the room. Completing the property is a separate, stylish bathroom. Outside, dine alfresco in the gravelled BBQ area or share picnics in the secluded garden. You’re also welcome to take walks through the owner’s surrounding 10 acres of countryside.

Just 8 miles away is Bigbury-on-Sea where you can enjoy romantic strolls along the golden sand or, at low tide, walk across to the magical Burgh Island, which is a fantastic place for wildlife watching and taking in the panoramic coastal views. The picturesque towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth (both within 13 miles) make great days out, with their plethora of independent shops and eateries, not to mention stunning beaches and coastal walks. For something a bit different, hop on the steam train in Totnes to journey through the gorgeous landscape into Dartmoor National Park.

We had the most lovely week, staying at the Linhay Barn at Lukesland. Carole's very warm welcome settled us in straight away. Your beautiful gardens were the perfect space to sit and enjoy the particularly lovely weather throughout our stay. It was also lovely to see the chickens roaming around and we completely understood why we needed to keep ourRead more 9 month Toy Poodle puppy on his lead. He didn't mind at all Hide

Very comfortable with all you would need for a countryside holiday. Large bed, dining table and chairs, leather sofa, wet room and compact kitchen area. All tastefully decorated with French doors leading out to very pretty gardens and parking area, which is always a bonus. Thank you so much Carol for a very happy holiday.

The property was suitable for what we wanted. The only downside was the 4 steps up to the kitchen.
