The four-bedroom home enjoys a sought-after position overlooking the estuary, making it a wonderful spot for larger groups and families. From the property, a private gate leads directly to the RNLI slipway and coast path so you can easily access open water swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. Within 0.5 miles you’ll have Appledore’s colourful streets lined with independent galleries, welcoming cafés and the bustling quay. For beach days, the golden sands and rolling dunes of Westward Ho! are only 2 miles away.

This beautifully presented property really makes the most of its coastal vantage point, with large windows and glass doors showing off the views. The heart of the home is the spacious ground-floor living area, which has comfy sofas spread across both the lounge and cosy TV snug, alongside a wood burner for if you’re here during the colder months. A family bathroom with a free-standing bath and panoramic views completes the property. There’s plenty of space for relaxing outside, too, with quarter-acre landscaped gardens with sea-view patios and several terraces for enjoying morning coffee or evening drinks. You’ll have a decked area ideal for morning yoga, plus an iconic Apple daybed for lazing in the sun. There’s also a games room in the large garage with table tennis and darts. Private parking is available for six cars.

Nearby, nature lovers will be perfectly placed for exploring Northam Burrows (0.5 miles) and setting off on foot or by bike along the scenic Tarka Trail (350 metres). The calm estuary beach at Instow (3 miles) is ideal for paddleboarding and family days by the water, while some of North Devon’s best surfing beaches, including Saunton Sands (8 miles), Croyde (11 miles) and Woolacombe (13 miles), are all within easy reach.

Wow, what an amazing stay we had at Salt Winds! Jo was so kind and helpful and has thought of everything you could want or need in a rental property. To have a ground floor bedroom with an en-suite was perfect for my Nan, and there was so much space throughout the house for the rest of us to relax and enjoy. The house is finished to such a highRead more standard, but yet still retains much of her family furniture which really makes it feel like a home away from home. The dining and relaxing areas both inside and outside are perfect, and a few of the nights we chose to eat at home rather than in restaurants because of the amazing view and sunsets! The property has direct access to the RNLI slipway where a lot of locals go open water swimming/kayaking/paddle boarding. The landscaped garden is so beautiful and has so many areas to relax and enjoy. We also loved using the table tennis and darts set up in the garage. We made use of the decking for yoga and to hear the sound of the sea during our practice was incredible. Appledore is such a charming seaside town with amazing pubs and restaurants, and we also chose to visit Instow, Clovelly and Lynton and Lynmouth on various days of our trip. We cant wait to stay again and would recommend Salt Winds to anyone thinking of booking. Hide
