Perfectly positioned 2 miles from Woolacombe, this holiday cottage is an ideal base for families, couples and keen walkers looking to enjoy the best of the North Devon coast. Known for its award-winning beach, Woolacombe offers 3 miles of golden sand and plenty of space for everything from sandcastle building to surfing. Keen walkers can follow the coastline to Morte Point (4 miles), where you’ll be rewarded with stunning sea views and may spot a seal or two. Croyde (5 miles) is another popular destination for surfers. The town of Ilfracombe (4 miles) is perfect for a day out, with its harbour, independent shops, and aquarium. Couples can enjoy a romantic meal in one of the town’s eateries, or perhaps take a boat trip to Lundy. Barnstaple (14 miles) provides shops, cafes and pubs, while Exmoor National Park (20 miles) is perfect for scenic drives, rural walks and spotting wild ponies.
Enter through the front door into a spacious hallway with plenty of room for coats, boots, surfboards and outdoor gear after days spent exploring. The main bedroom sits just off the hallway and includes a comfortable double bed, bespoke oak storage and views across the duck pond and surrounding fields. The second bedroom is arranged with two small single beds (2’6”), alongside a wardrobe and outlooks over the shared grounds. Also on the ground floor is a stylish family bathroom. Upstairs, the open-plan living area has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of the surrounding scenery. A large corner sofa creates a sociable setting for evenings in, while the 50-inch Smart TV comes with access to streaming services. A soundbar adds a cinematic feel, and extras such as a Bluetooth speaker, books, games, local guidebooks and walking maps make settling in easy. The dining area seats four, and the kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed for holiday meals.
Immediately outside the cottage, a wildlife pond attracts ducks, geese, moorhens and visiting birds during the summer months. A bench near the entrance creates a pleasant spot for al fresco dining or simply taking in the rural vistas. The cottage is part of Willingcott Holiday Village, set within 100 acres of shared grounds including landscaped lawns, wildflower meadows, wetlands and two play areas. Guests also have use of an outdoor heated swimming pool, open from 22 May to 29 September, along with a seasonal food truck serving meals and snacks between May and September. Free parking is available close to the cottage entrance.
