This cosy cottage situated close to the golden sands of Instow beach is a fantastic, coastal escape for couples. Bring your bikes, or hire locally, and explore North Devon on two wheels via the Tarka Trail. After a long day cycling, relax on the patio where you can fire up the BBQ and, after eating, treat yourself to a dip in the private hot tub. When the sun sets retreat inside to the lounge where you can warm up in front of the welcoming wood burner.

When you step through the front door of Quay Close Cottage you’ll be immediately greeted by a contemporary and chic lounge. The corner sofa offers plenty of room for both of you to sit back and unwind in front of the wood burner, and there's also enough room for your four-legged friend to join you. A bright and airy kitchen is well-equipped for two and contains a dining area which looks out onto the patio. Catch the last of the rays in the patio area as you sip bubbly in your very own private hot tub.

The glorious Instow beach, one of the area's most popular dog walking locations, is a 500-metre walk away. Similarly popular with dog walkers, as well as surfers and families, is Westward Ho! beach which is 5 miles from the cottage. If you do decide to go for a bike ride, join the Tarka Trail and head east towards the local market town of Barnstaple (6 miles) or, slightly closer, Fremington Quay (4 miles) which has a cafe situated on the trail.

The cottage was clean and comfortable and everything worked. It was a lovely little bolt hole for the thre nights we stayed and the bed was extremely comfortable. We have no complaints at all. Micheal the owner made himself available when contacting us by email the day before we arrived, which we thought was nice as most times you never hear from tRead morehe owners at all. The free parking was useful at the Quay pub, free as long as you frequent it, which we did. Sunday lunch is a.must by the way.... Hide

Good location, cottage is nice albeit a little squeezed in. Not helped by work vans parked outside kitchen window from early morning while we were there. Pub at end of the road is great with very friendly landlord and staff, good food too.
