We stayed at Mayfield for a half term intergenerational break. The property very comfortably accommodated myself and husband, granny and two teenage boys (both over six foot), as well as our Labrador. Julie and Steve were very kind and thoughtful hosts, who really had left no stone unturned! We were staying during Storm Austen, so the weather wRead moreas against us but we still managed to get out and explore some of the many beautiful walks and coastlines that are in such easy reaching distance. A quick & easy early morning walk for the dog along the Tarka Trail through Braunton, which is literally on the doorstep, was followed by later, more adventurous walks along Woolacombe beach, around Baggy Point, over the Burrows to Saunton Sands - all of which provided stunning scenery. When the weather got too much, we took refuge in the Barnstaple pannier market and enjoyed a warming lunch at Heanton Court en route, as well as some delicious fish & chips in the evening from local star chippy, Squires. Arriving back from walks sodden, windswept and muddy, there were dog rugs and towels provided, as well as kindling and logs for the wood burner - which was hardly needed as the heating was incredibly efficient and the property so well insulated. Board games provided meant that the teenagers had a break from their phones and the extremely well-equipped kitchen made cooking warming evening food, incredibly easy. I asked Julie before arriving at the property if there was a casserole dish. There was not at that point but by the time we arrived, there was one on the hob waiting for us, which we thought was remarkably thoughtful. The beds were very comfortable and the property - despite being in a residential area - was extremely quiet at night. Our dog was entirely delighted by the fabulous garden and we would have loved to be able to spend more time in it ourselves - will have to make a return visit when the weather is better! Thank you Julie and Steve for providing such a comfortable and convenient base for our stay! Hide

I dont know why you advertise this property and show no pictures of the front of it and a picture of the local pub. Its very misleading and its advertised.

We had a lovely stay in this beautifully furnished and well-equipped bungalow on the outskirts of Braunton, Nth Devon. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable, and despite overlooking the road, the room was pleasantly quiet. The spacious open-plan kitchen, dining area and lounge were exceptionally well presented and provided a very comfortRead moreable setting throughout our stay. The large, beautifully maintained garden was another highlight, and the hot tub was a welcome bonus after a day spent exploring and walking around the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would be very happy to book again in the future. Hide
