Set within 37 acres of private countryside with a lake, this secluded off-grid cabin makes a lovely base for couples planning outdoor adventures on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Ancient woodland and abundant wildlife will keep you entertained close to home. Pick up the Granite Way (5 miles) for a walk or cycle along the former railway line, pausing for moorland views from Meldon Viaduct and Meldon Reservoir. Capture even wider vistas from the summit of Yes Tor or High Willhays (both within 9 miles). Explore 100-year-old gardens and waterfalls at Simmons Park (5.5 miles), then wander around the wooded grounds and ruins of Okehampton Castle. After a day on the trails, return to the cabin’s wood-fired hot tub to relax.
Step inside this gorgeous shepherd's hut and you will immediately find yourself in the rustic and cosy living and sleeping area. To the left, a wood burner sits beside a breakfast bar with bench seating, while the beautifully designed kitchen occupies the centre of the space. A Bluetooth speaker lets you play your favourite music while you cook. To the right is the pillowy double bed, where you can gaze upon lovely views first thing in the morning. The shower room is a separate outbuilding, as is the outdoor compost WC.
The front of the property features a lovely, secluded garden area with seating overlooking the pond. Use the rowing boat for relaxed afternoons on the water, then return for warming dips in the wood-fired hot tub. The garden also has a BBQ and fire pit for outdoor cooking. Private parking for two cars is also nearby for ease.
