This tastefully modernised 19th-century cottage is in a superb location beside the cascading East Lyn River in a beautiful area surrounded by dramatic scenery both inland and along the coast. This makes it an ideal base for both keen walkers and family groups and a lovely home to return to after a busy day.
Approached across a pretty front garden with a driftwood path, the spacious entrance hall leads into a stylish and well-proportioned, dual aspect living room with large bay window and wood burner, making this a beautifully cosy space for those cooler evenings. Across the hall to the left is a spacious dual aspect dining kitchen with rustic style oak units, complemented by a limestone tiled floor and from here, a rear door leads out onto the small private courtyard. Upstairs are three beautifully finished and attractive bedrooms all served by a family bathroom and separate WC. The master double and a twin room enjoy views across the river and the second twin room is at the rear. Outside, guests can relax on the bistro set in the sunny front garden listening to the sound of the river as it winds its way down to the sea.
Located in the lovely village of Lynmouth, there are plenty of lovely things to do nearby. Guests can stroll down to the harbour and enjoy some fish and chips or jump aboard the funicular cliff railway that takes you up to the equally pretty village of Lynton. Visitors can also enjoy the endless natural beauty of the nearby Exmoor National Park including the Doone Valley, Valley of the Rocks and Woody Bay which are all within 5 miles. For a more vibrant scene, head to the harbour town of Ilfracombe (19 miles) with its boat trips from the harbour or beautiful Tunnels Beaches, and if you’re looking for family fun, the attractions of Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park or Watermouth Castle are 12 and 16 miles respectively.
