Tucked away in a charming narrow street within a short stroll of the bustling quay, this cottage is a delightful home in Appledore. Decked with flowers in high summer, this coastal village is a great place for a family to visit with cafes and restaurants galore, as well as crabbing opportunities. When you’re done for the day, head back to the warmth of the wood burner.
Enter the cottage straight into the bright and welcoming living room which features an impressive stone fireplace with wood burner, ideal for cosy evenings at any time of the year. Snuggle up here and watch your favourites shows or a DVD on the TV. Head up one step into the separate dining room which also features an attractive brick and stone fireplace, and then up one more step to the kitchen which has a Butler sink that adds to the character. Upstairs are three inviting bedrooms, the double having an iron bedstead and one of the single rooms having a pull-out bed, ideal for flexible sleeping arrangements. All are served by a separate modern bathroom. Step out from the kitchen into the cosy courtyard which has garden furniture and a BBQ for dinners alfresco.
Why not stroll down to the quay for a scenic boat trip or trying your hand at crabbing or fishing from the water's edge? Just across the river, the popular village of Instow, with its safe sandy beach and array of yachts and sailing craft is well worth a visit. It’s 6 miles in the car or in the summer, you can hop on the foot ferry and be there in no time at all. If you want to grab some fabulous surfing waves, Westward Ho! is just 2.5 miles away.
