An exquisite ‘New England’-style holiday home, this elegant coastal property combines a neutral palette with French-style furniture for relaxed holiday living. It’s a successful fusion of contemporary living with period charm and is in a central location in the stylish seaside village of Shaldon, just a one-minute stroll to the beach. Spend time in the pleasant courtyard or cosy up in front of the modern wood burner.
This spacious accommodation is set over three floors and has been renovated under the keen eye of the interior designer owner. Features include slate floors with underfloor heating and a spacious sitting room with large comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and a cream wood burner. The large Shaker-style kitchen has everything needed for a large family meal or a celebration with friends, and there’s a wooden dining table with grey high-back wicker chairs. There’s also a TV/DVD here along with a DAB radio, and French doors opening out onto the private courtyard. A utility room and a separate WC complete the ground floor. The coastal style continues on the first floor with three beautifully furnished bedrooms comprising a king-size, a double and a twin. These three rooms share the family bathroom, whilst the master bedroom on the second floor is an en-suite king-size. Outside the stylish coastal-inspired garden comes complete with olive tree, potted palms and a glass top wicker table and chairs. A delightful spot to relax with a little al fresco aperitif.
Shaldon is a quaint little fishing village opposite Teignmouth at the mouth of the River Teign, meaning it’s easy to hop on one of the regular ferries and explore further afield. The area is popular with walkers too with the South West Coast Path offering some fabulous coastal strolls right on your doorstep. Follow one of the nature trails, do a spot of bird watching on the river or try your hand at one of the water sports on offer. Golfing enthusiasts will enjoy the 18-hole golf course (1 mile), and the charming local conservation zoo (Shaldon Wildlife Trust 0.5 miles) is a must, as are the fabulous beaches and the Shaldon Botanical Gardens (0.5 miles).
