Ilfracombe is well situated for those who love beaches, walking and places of interest. The historic Tunnels Beaches are 0.5 miles from the house where you can hire a deckchair and enjoy the sheltered cove with stunning views of the rugged cliffs, a tidal swimming pool and amazing rock pools. The white sands of Woolacombe (7 miles) and Croyde (10 miles) are a short car journey away – wonderful for building sandcastles, hiring a wetsuit and learning to surf. These beaches, and many others in the area, are manned by lifeguards in the summer months. Further attractions include Ilfracombe’s historic harbour. From here, you can take a boat along the coast or to Lundy. Children may enjoy visiting the Ilfracombe lifeboat and the wonderful small aquarium focusing on the local river and coastal habitats.
