What a charming cottage in a beautiful rural setting. Theres a well equipped kitchen with a brand new electric range cooker. As well as a built in fridge theres a fridge/freezer in the brick built shed. Lots of capacity for food and to chill drinks. Theres a convenient utility/boiler room at the back with a washer and a dryer. The bedroom set uRead morep may not suit everyone but it was ideal for us. My Nephew and his wife could sleep in a lovely four poster bed and there were a couple of cots where the baby could sleep, a single bedroom for their older child and a bathroom all off their bedroom. My brother and his wife could sleep in the other double bedroom. Theres a single bedroom and a twin in the attic rooms and the beds are of adult quality. Beware of the low ceiling on the stairs I saw stars a couple of times lol ! The children thought it was great however - built specially for them! Theres a tradition cottage garden at the back and a magnificent view of the Devon countryside particularly on a fine day. You couldnt say the place wasnt spotlessly clean. We were apprehensive at first booking this cottage because of some negative feedback but the owners and housekeeper appear to have addressed these issues in full. Normally we say a different cottage in a different place each holiday. Laurel cottage however is one of the very few wed definitely revisit. Hide

This is an older property which has a charm, but we found it wasnt a particularly comfortable space to be in. It was a bit awkward to cook in (I never got on with an Aga having to wait for it to heat up to use) and there is only a hot plate or countertop oven to use. If there were more than 4 of you it would be tough. The house feels and smells dRead moreamp, which could have been worse with the awful week of bad weather but is part of an old property sometimes. Great location for exploring the north Devon coast, and it was easy to find places to eat locally. The local pub was fantastic. Parking was ok at the church, unloading was tricky with cars passing. We probably wouldnt stay here again by choice, it just wasnt our kind house. Hide

Laurel Cottage is an oasis and perfect for relaxing. A large, beautifully furnished old house with a lovely garden and conservatoryeverything you need is there.
