Appledore has an abundance of unspoilt charm, its many fishermen's cottages tucked away in a maze of narrow cobbled pathways, and this cottage, as you may expect, nestles in the corner between two similar cottages. It’s ideally suited for couples or young families seeking a good base from which to explore this beautiful area. When you return, take a seat and gaze across the water from the Juliet balcony.
Being in reverse style to take full advantage of the fabulous views, stairs lead from the ground-floor hall to the cosy open-plan first-floor living room with the modern kitchen area with a dining table to one end and a comfortable seating area with a TV/DVD player at the other. There is a bay window with French doors that, when fully open, create a balcony inside the living room where you can sit and enjoy the panoramic views over the estuary. Downstairs, there are two bedrooms and a small bathroom; the double bedroom enjoys estuary views, and the smaller bunk room has 3ft bunks. The bottom bunk may suit one adult. The top bunk is very high and therefore is not suitable for smaller children or adults.
The pretty quayside of Appledore with shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants is just a short stroll away. Explore the area and discover Greysands Beach (1.5 miles) nearby or walk up the hill and watch Appledore FC (1 mile) play at the weekend. Across the water is Instow (6 miles) which has a dune-backed beach, pubs, restaurants and a deli. You can even get the passenger ferry over from Appledore during the summer. Westward Ho! is just 2.5 miles away and boasts a huge beach, plenty of eateries and gorgeous walks along the South West Coast Path.
