One of three charming, detached lodges set around a large fishing pond within unspoilt part of rural North Devon. Perfect for families, within walking distance of the local village pub (0.7 miles).
The beautiful lodge is set in an idyllic location, surrounded by woodland and looking out over a pretty pond. The property is close to the Devon/Cornwall border, allowing you to easily explore both counties, from the picturesque fishing village of Clovelly (10.5 miles) to the sandy beaches of Bude (11 miles). Sleeping four guests, the spacious lodge is perfect for small families and couples. After a busy day, return to the property to snuggle in front of the wood burner or enjoy a sundowner on the veranda.
Steps lead to the lodge’s veranda and, from here, you can enter the light and bright contemporary living space. This fabulous open-plan area comprises a lounge/kitchen/diner and has high ceilings and beautiful exposed beams. Whip up a tasty meal in the stylish kitchen area to share together around the large dining table. In the evening, sink into the plump sofas around the warming wood burner to watch the Smart TV. Outside, unwind on the enclosed veranda, partake in a spot of fishing on-site, or take a stroll through the surrounding woodlands.
For laid-back Cornish charm, head to the family-friendly seaside resort of Bude. Potter around the cute, independent shops, eat ice cream on the golden sands of Summerleaze Beach and try your hand and surfing at Crooklets Beach. Further along the coast, you’ll come to the unique fishing village of Clovelly. This traffic-free haven, clinging to the hillside, has a cobbled high street, 16th-century white-washed cottages and a picture-postcard harbour. The rugged coastline around Hartland is simply stunning. Why not take a day trip to Hartland Abbey (10 miles)? Here, you can explore the 12th-century family home, wander amongst the floral displays in the walled gardens and follow the footpath to the dramatic Atlantic coast.
