Grab your buckets and spades and head to Widemouth Bay (14 miles). With nearly 2 miles of golden sand, it’s easy to find your own little spot to set up camp, even in the height of summer. Spend the day building sandcastles, rummaging in rock pools and surfing some of Cornwall’s best waves. For completely different scenery, journey 24 miles to Boscastle. Set deep in a ravine, this natural harbour is quite magical. Wander amongst the white-washed cottages before heading high above the village to explore the surrounding rugged landscape.
