This beautiful cottage, surrounded by stunning Devon countryside, is the perfect place to switch off and relax with friends or family. There’s ample space for six (plus two canine companions), a shared swimming pool and hot tub, underfloor heating and a cosy wood burner, plus great walking and cycling nearby.
It’s one of four holiday cottages, all barn conversions given a contemporary overhaul with high-end features. Entering through the large oak French doors, you arrive in the spacious kitchen/dining room with everything you need to cook and enjoy tasty meals together. Steps lead to the bright living room, where you can light the wood burner for the pups to dose next to while you curl up on the sofa with a good book. There’s also a WC on the ground floor. Up the circular staircase are three bedrooms and two bathrooms: a pretty king-size with a handy en-suite shower room, a lovely second king (or twin) and a good-sized twin, plus a family bathroom for a relaxing soak. Outside, soak up the sun on the front terrace, explore the communal gardens and orchard, and make use of the pool and hot tub, which has amazing country views.
The cottage is 0.8 miles from the beautiful village of Broadhempston, home to two pubs, a community-run shop, and an impressive 13th century church. There are super walking and cycling routes from the door, and the rugged moorland of Dartmoor is only 5 miles away. Head to Torquay (10 miles) to spend the day on the beach and pick up the South West Coast Path for stunning walks on the headlands. Ashburton, with a range of shops, an art gallery and museum is nearby (5 miles). For a fun-packed family day out, River Dart Country Park offer heaps of outdoor activities (7 miles).
