The picturesque villages of Lynton and Lynmouth (16 miles) are well worth a visit during your stay. Potter amongst the fishermen’s cottages in Lynmouth and ride the scenic cliff railway to Lynton, before striding out along the coast path to experience the jaw-dropping views. As well as the popular seaside resorts, there are numerous hidden gems along the North Devon coast. Broadsands Beach (1.5 miles) is off the beaten track and is a real oasis of calm. Reached by 200 steps, its not for the faint-hearted, but you’ll be rewarded with tree-covered cliffs and turquoise waters.
