This delightful cottage in the picturesque coastal village of Lynmouth has recently been renovated and refurbished to high standards. Sitting on the hillside overlooking the East Lyn Valley, wonderful river views can be enjoyed from the living area and master bedroom.  Fox cottage has a modern contemporary style yet the original character of this 17th century cottage can still be seen in the beams, inglenook, low thresholds and steep and narrow stairs.  Quietly situated in an elevated position(steps and sloping pathway to entrance), all villages amenities are a short downhill walk including a choice of individual shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants.  Known as Little Switzerland, Lynmouth and its twin village of Lynton are connected by steep road, winding exhilarating walkway or the famous water powered cliff railway – an experience not to be missed. A stable door opens into the open plan living area with comfy settee, and cushioned window seat ideal for enjoying the views. A stylish kitchen area has been well designed and offers all you need to enjoy preparing meals. Steep stairs lead up to the first floor where a spacious double room overlooks the river and a newly fitted shower room with large walk in shower is adjacent. Further steep stairs to the second floor opens out into a second attractive bedroom with sloping ceiling and twin beds. The picturesque harbour, manor green and rock and shingle beach of Lynmouth are great places to relax and enjoy the wonderful sea, river and coastal views and nature lovers and walkers will delight in the deeply cut wooded valleys, and open moorland of the surrounding countryside. For those who wish to venture further, fishing trips are available from the harbour and there are many famous beauty spots just a short drive away whilst the golden sand surfing beaches of Woolacombe Bay are within a 40 minute drive.

Lovely, comfortable stay in Lynmouth. Found it very hard to choose where to stay in Devon (it all looked great) and Lynmouth was perfect. We were able to enjoy all on offer - beaches, river walks, Exmoor. Cottage was perfect for three people and easy to relax in on rainy days. Beds were firm and comfortable and all was spotlessly clean. Parking was close by. Very impressed by my communication with Marsdens, they made it all so easy! Would love to visit again.

Mrs C,

Fox Cottage is ideally located in the village of Lynmouth with plenty of walking routes from the doorstep. The cottage is well equipped, particularly in the kitchen. It was clean and tidy on arrival. We had a great holiday in this beautiful area.
