Description

Located in the heart of the historic quarter of the village, close to a variety of independent shops, cafes and pubs, this cosy and attractive 19th Century cottage is a lovely base for couples to enjoy the twin Exmoor villages of Lynton & Lynmouth.  In a small pedestrian area of the village, The Den is laid out over three floors accessed by steep staircases and low thresholds and with a room on each floor. Compact yet thoughtfully designed this delightful stone cottage is furnished in a comfortable modern style. On the ground floor a good quality kitchen/diner has an ample range of units and is equipped with all you would need for dining in. Stairs lead up to a very comfortable living room with a wood burner to provide a warm retreat no matter what the season. On the top floor the staircase opens out into a compact double room (access only on one side of the bed) with en suite facilities.  This popular Exmoor village is surrounded by spectacular Exmoor countryside. Breath-taking coast, country and riverside walks are easily accessible, with abundant wildlife including wild goats in the Valley of the Rocks, red deer and Exmoor ponies in the surrounding countryside. The twin village of Lynmouth with its riverside walks, harbourside pubs, restaurants and large manor green overlooking the sea is linked by road, exhilarating footpath or the famous Victorian, water powered cliff railway.  The location offers an ideal base to relax, enjoy invigorating outdoor pursuits or visit many famous beauty spots in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoy magical night skies in Europe's first 'dark sky reserve'. Reviews

This was the perfect place to stay! I hope that this will be the beginning of many stays at The Den. I know Lynton very well so it always feels like i'm coming home-The Den has made it extra special. A big thank you.

Ms M P,

Very impressed with the whole process from booking to leaving, professional and thought has gone into making our holiday special. Lovely area met some interesting people. Thank you will always consider Marsden cottages first for next break. Marsdens have taken the stress and worry out of booking a cottage, they have provided a beautifully clean well thought out property and even left treats for our dog which was so much appreciate. Booking was painless and it was good to know we could contact someone if we had problems during our stay, which we didn’t. I can not recommend Marsdens enough Thank you.bev.e

Mr Trevor E,

We are so pleased to have discovered such a perfect little hideaway, right in the center of one of the most beautiful part of the country. The weather has been a bit variable but that only adds to the charm as the landscape changes so much throughout. The last couple of days have been pure blue skies and a super end to our stay. Thank you so much for our stay at 'The Den' - we hope to see you again soon.
