Nestling between Berrynarbor and Ilfracombe in one of the most beautiful coastal areas of North Devon, a new look Whimbrels awaits guests with the holiday home having undergone a major transformation. The architect has created fabulous new accommodation including an additional floor allowing the imaginative design to maximize the enviable location which includes breathtaking panoramic sea views as well as overlooking Watermouth Castle.
The house has been extended at one end to provide new living space including a viewing room and garden suite room, whilst the additional floor accommodates two new bedrooms with ensuite facilities. A new safari lodge style balcony wraps itself around Whimbrels with a feature octagon promontory.
Surrounded by gardens, Whimbrels has its own heated outdoor swimming pool (available 22nd May-25th September 2020) in a secluded, enclosed setting enjoying splendid views over the coastline, perfect for a splash in the summer sunshine. The garden benefits from an extensive paved patio complete with Breeze House, another way to enjoy outdoor living.
The hallway on the ground floor leads into the large L-shaped kitchen/living/dining room with an expanse of picture windows taking full advantage of the stunning sea views. Outside is a wrap around balcony terrace. On this level is the new viewing gallery a perfect place to admire the view, year round. In addition there are two bedrooms, a twin and a king bedroom (with TV built into the bed), both with en-suite and also a boot room at the back of the kitchen.
On the lower ground floor is a good size games room complete with pool table and table football plus a separate sitting room. The garden room with comfy sofa seating can be accessed from these two rooms. On this level you will also find two further bedrooms (both with ensuite facilities). The Superking bedroom with French doors opens out on to the terrace. The other bedroom is a Superking (zip ‘n’ link option to twin). The family bathroom is a real indulgence incorporating a deluxe Jacuzzi spa bath with WiFi and mood lighting.
On the first floor you will find the master bedroom with Superking and magnificent sea views. A second bedroom is Twin (with zip ‘n’ link option to Superking). Both bedrooms are ensuite.
If you can tear yourself away from this incredibly, luxurious house there is so much to explore nearby. Enchanting Watermouth Cove is within a short stroll, with its gently sloping shoreline and abundance of rock pools, this naturally sheltered harbour is a popular mooring for colourful boats of all shapes and sizes. Watermouth Castle is one of North Devon's premier attractions and offers something for all the family, while the nearby Dinosaur and Wildlife Park is a favourite with children. The Old Sawmills Inn, a character pub and restaurant was refurbished in 2016 and is nearby and there is a choice of pubs, restaurants and shops in Ilfracombe and Combe Martin just a few minutes drive away. With Exmoor National Park to the east, a choice of golden sandy beaches to the west and with miles of stunning coastal and countryside scenery to enjoy all around, Whimbrels is ideal for extended families or two families holidaying together and will help create wonderful holiday memories for years to come.

With the wonderful views and a five star property you won"t find anywhere better. This was our third visit.
