Great location, nice property, very convenient with the garden and off road parking. Only detractor would be the renovation of the next door property and the associated building work noise.

The cottage is close to a very nice little village - 10-15min stroll away. Lovely places to eat and drink and a post office selling basics. Also close to the beach - again 15-20 min stroll away. The beach is lovely but for dog owners be very aware of the restrictions - they cannot be on the beach May-October, however there are 2 (amazing) local Read morebeaches within a short driving distance where dogs can go (and are very worth a visit) Parking at the beaches you drive to is around 12 for the full day. The cottage is situated down a private road, parking is available for up to two cars beside the cottage and is gated. The pictures on the website do not give a true representation of what the cottage is like and really need to be updated. The garden is not as depicted and is not really private or certainly not as big as pictured, its overlooked and people walking up and down the road to the beach have clear view of you at all angles. The garden furniture (a bench/table) has not been maintained and is dirty and very wobbly - I wouldnt trust it to sit on and certainly not to eat on - you need to take your own chairs to sit on. The cottage inside is roomy, the shower is great, beds comfortable. However the cottage is very tired and not really well maintained, cleanliness was 'average' The kitchen is small, equipment is old and tired and if more than two of you want a glass for wine - forget it - or a pint... the glasses and cooking utensils are inadequate and feel like they have been provided from a charity shop. There is a dishwasher which is handy. The worst thing was the fridge freezer - its tiny and I dont see how a family are expected to use it effectively. There is room for a larger fridge/freezer so I dont see why its not provided when the cottage has sleeping for up to 6. I just felt no thought has been considered for the comfort for people who are paying top money to stay. At least provide a fridge that can hold enough food and drink for those staying! You must take everything with you! The 'welcome pack' consists of some tea bags, a half used box of decaf tea bags, coffee sachets and sugar, I actually think its the meanest 'welcome pack' Ive ever had at a property!. There is no salt / pepper / milk. Only 1 part used toilet roll provided!!! - so pack your own. I just think that is very poor standards in terms of customer care! The cottage lacks privacy. There are curtains but no blinds or nets so anyone walking past just looks in at you - its close to the private road and pathway and there is quite a lot of people using the road to walk to the beach - you feel like a zoo exhibit! The bedrooms are overlooked by neighbouring cottages and again no privacy unless you keep the curtains closed at all times. On a plus point the bedrooms were comfortable and the area is very quiet at night. It is very warm inside the cottage - no fans provided, I would suggest taking your own in summer months and judging by how many heaters are in the place I assume quite chilly in winter. Our main issue was that the next door property was actually being built so was a building site - we had not been pre-warned. It was noisy from 8am to 5pm and spoilt our holiday - I would check before booking if the building has been completed - if not you should reconsider your booking as you will not have a quiet, relaxing stay! At the time we went the fencing was damaged and inadequate so our small dogs were able to escape easily - very stressful and upsetting. If the building next door has been completed it may be safer as they were in the process of building a fence - however the large front gate has big gaps at the sides and small dogs can escape. This is a cottage that is tired, not updated, clearly not cared for and is absolutely not as depicted / advertised. It is near a beautiful beach, greats pubs and eating facilities and near to other beautiful places to visit - so if you arent worried about total comfort, privacy and somewhere to relax you will probably be ok. Overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay but the property is looking a bit tired and dated compare to others we've stayed in at the same location. The outdoor enclosed garden was great for our pooch.

We had a lovely stay in Sandpiper cottage. Superb location for both beach and village centre. It's a bit of tardis with three good sized bedrooms, a generous lounge and equally generous bathroom. Very cosy base for hiking, surfing and just chilling out.

The location is amazing, just over 5 minutes to the beach along a pretty path through the sand dunes. Lots of amazing places to visit nearby, Baggy Point, Northam Burrows Country Park/beach, Morte Point, Croyde village, Woolacombe, to name a few. Great location for the beach, the village and the pubs. The chalet was well equipped but felt it needs a bit of TLC with the decor although it was very clean. We struggled a bit with the outside gate as it was hanging off its hinges but needed to open and close it due to having a dog - not great.

Although the cottage is small, our 4 adults and 2 young children had a lovely stay. It was clean and adequately equipped. We hardly used the car as you could walk to the beach, village and the lovely walks in the area. A lovely holiday experience all round! We would definitely stay again!
