Overview
This wonderful 4 bedroom house in the centre of Shaldon is an ideal base for family holidays on the South Devon coast, offering a balanced combination of a Georgian character and contemporary interior charm. It benefits from a fully equipped spacious kitchen diner, comfortable layout and furnishings throughout the house, as well as private parking, an enclosed courtyard garden with private hot tub, and four spacious bedrooms which make up the sleeping accommodation with additional snug room on the ground floor that can be used as a single bedroom.
In years gone by, Royal Standard House operated as a local family pub in the heart of Shaldon, but more recently has been converted to a bright and spacious home from home, laid out over 3 floors whilst still enjoying its central location, in close proximity to local cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as the iconic red sands of Shaldon Beach.
Please note – property available for bookings from April 2020 and before will have the lounge and attic room refurnished, photos to follow.
Accommodation: Ground floor: Entrance to the hall with access to kitchen-diner, stairs to 1st floor, ground floor WC, lounge and snug room. Kitchen-diner with French door leading to courtyard garden with table and chairs for al fresco dining and hot tub. Kitchen has a range style electric double oven with 6 ring gas hob, fridge-freezer (60/40), dishwasher and plenty of pots, pans and crockery. Dining table and chairs. Utility cupboard – washing machine, tumble dryer. Ground floor WC with wall mounted sink. Lounge with sofas, coffee table, armchair, gas fire. French door to garden courtyard. Another door leads to snug room with Smart TV with Freeview, DVD (Amazon/Netflix TV available - you will require your own log in details), this room has a day bed and can be used as ground floor bedroom for the 9th person in the party. First Floor: Bedroom 1: A master bedroom with a king size bed, bedside tables with reading lights, chest of drawers and built in wardrobe. En-suite bathroom with walk in shower, bath, WC and washing basin. Bedroom 2: two single beds (zip&link - can be joined to form a King on request). Bedside tables with reading lights, as well as built in wardrobe, chest of drawers. Bedroom 3: a double bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, built in wardrobe & chest of drawers. Family bathroom with bath and shower head, WC and wash basin. Second Floor/attic: Bedroom 4: a double bed, reading lamps, a chest of drawers and hanging rail. The other part of room could be called a loft snug as one can find TV & table football along with bean-pillows bags which younger generation adores. Second Family Bathroom: A modern bathroom with bath and shower overhead, WC and wash basin.
Facilities and Services: Linen and towels. Gas CH. Electric fireplace in the lounge. Gas BBQ in the garden (complimentary gas provided). Wi-Fi Broadband. No smoking. Travel cot, highchair and stair gate at the property please bring your own bedding and linen for the cot. 2 pets welcome. Garden furniture. Hot tub. 1 space in private covered parking and 2nd space in Ness Car Park nearby (last only in summer season). Short breaks available outside peak season. 4 PM arrival time. 10 AM Departure time. Saturday changeover days for weekly bookings.
Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £350, which is payable with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
