A wonderful barn conversion nestling in rolling countryside on the Cornwall/Devon border, 3 miles from the historic town of Launceston. Featuring an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, versatile bedrooms and an enclosed garden with astonishing panoramic views, this characterful, dog-friendly barn is ideal for a family or group of friends seeking adventure or complete relaxation between Dartmoor National Park and the Atlantic coastline.

This gorgeous holiday home offers contemporary looks punctuated by original features, with each spacious room glowing in natural light. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a popular place to converge, whether you’re setting yourselves up for the day or in urgent need of comfortable surroundings after hours of activity. Upstairs is where you’ll find the family bathroom and three inviting bedrooms, all with wonderful country views: two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom; and one twin bedroom. The elevated enclosed patio garden enjoys panoramic views across the lakes and rolling hills beyond the cottage, with plenty of room for children to play dog-friendly games - that is if they’re not enjoying a BBQ supper, relaxing in the hot tub or exploring the 7 acres of grounds.

With Dartmoor National Park (14.5 miles) in one direction and Cornwall’s Atlantic coast (21.5 miles) in the other, there are endless places to keep walkers, cyclists and water sports lovers busy during their stay. The national park is home to some of the most dramatic moorlands found anywhere in the UK, while the rugged coastline is dotted with pretty fishing villages and miles of sandy beaches. Closer to home, Launceston (3 miles) has an inspiring castle and steam railway, and, like its wilder counterparts, is a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Lovely cottage, peaceful location with great views of the countryside. Cream tea for us and treats for our dog on arrival made us all feel very welcome. Everything we needed so it was a home from home and Launceton is a five minute drive away. The hot tub was amazing and a real treat after a day out exploring Devon/Cornwall.

Absolutely stunning venue. The layout is perfect with one ensuite and another Large bathroom to share. The wooden beams look really traditional and the open kitchen loving area make it great to socialise. The views were absolutely beautiful.

We enjoyed our stay at Otter Barn Lakes. The property was spacious which was important as there were 6 adults & 1 dog!! We had a wonderful holiday at Otter Barn. Really close to Launceston and many shops, including the garden centre. Not far from the north coast and the Eden project. Darren has been so helpful and always present if needed. The paddock for the dog has been really appreciated. We would return for sure.

Beautiful barn accommodation in a quiet location where the roads are virtually empty compared to the busy seaside resorts of Cornwall. Only 30 minutes by car to Bude and the beaches, where we did Coasteering, paddleboarding and swam in the (very clean) sea. Our furthest excursion was to the Lost Gardens, an hour away and well worth the drive. LovelRead morey walking at Lydford Gorge National Trust to see the fantastic waterfall. Staying here was far better value than a coastal cottage. We'll be back. Hide

Had a wonderful relaxing week at Otter Barn. All amenities provided and particularly liked the added touch of the welcome cream teas and fudge. Darren was absolutely brilliant and couldn't have been more helpful and lovely. Stunning views across the lakes (especially at sunset). A roomy and comfortable barn conversion. Kitchen was suitable equipped and we liked the scones, jam, cream and milk to greet us on our arrival. Ample areas to walk the dogs, though were a bit muddy as had been wet for some time. On the point of dogs, we were supplied with two dog beds, towels, bowls and treats. The hot tub was fine though could havRead moree been a bit warmer. Also, barns with hot tubs had robes supplied. Was able to make good use of the Pod Point EV charging stations. An enjoyable stay.
