Stylish and spacious, this gorgeous converted barn near Launceston has two en-suite bedrooms as well as a hot tub on an enclosed patio where you can listen to birdsong and gaze at the stars. A wonderful rural retreat for couples or small families, it’s in an ideal location for exploring coastal resorts and beautiful countryside.

Spacious and full of light, the barn blends characterful original features with timeless, quality furnishings. It has a quirky layout which means that you enter its hallway to find a bedroom on each side: a double and a twin, each with vaulted ceilings and an en-suite shower room. Step down to the middle landing, which has double-height glazed doors to the patio, and then down again to the living area with its comfortable sofas and Smart TV. This room flows through to the kitchen/diner, equipped with a range cooker and all you’ll need to prepare sumptuous meals (there’s a freezer and tumble dryer in the shared utility area). Your private courtyard is the perfect spot for afternoon lounging, pre-dinner drinks and stargazing from the hot tub. There are fabulous shared facilities, too: a games room with darts, table football and air hockey, a picnic area with outdoor table tennis, a paddock for dogs and children to play, and seven acres of land, which include two fishing lakes full of carp.

The property sits among a complex of properties in a beautiful rural setting, with a number of charming villages nearby to explore. In the ancient town of Launceston, 3 miles, there are independent shops and places to eat, a Norman castle and a steam railway, while other attractions nearby include Roadford Lake, 6.5 miles, the seaside town of Bude, 19 miles, and the magical castle at Tintagel, 21 miles.

The cottage was really homely and clean. We were really happy with our stay. The games room and the hot tub was our favourite. The entire time, the area was so peaceful. We felt like the only people there which is something we wanted.
