Okehampton is a traditional market town with a fantastic array of independent shops and eateries. There’s also a fascinating museum in the town, detailing Dartmoor’s history, and a beautiful public park. The lodge sits at the foothills of Dartmoor National Park and there are some excellent walking routes to explore, including to the Park’s highest peak, High Willhays (10 miles). Another popular walking trail is the long-distance Granite Way, which you can join in Okehampton.
