Surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Blackdown Hills, this welcoming cottage is ideal for up to four guests seeking a tranquil break amid unspoilt scenery. Enjoy walks from the door, visits to charming market towns and days at the beach, returning to a cosy retreat with open-plan living and a deck with far-reaching views.

The cottage is set on a working farm, where sheep and horses graze the meadows. Hang coats in the hall and stroll through to the welcoming living area – the stunning views through the patio doors are sure to captivate you straight away. With a backdrop of pale walls and nature-inspired artwork, soft seating is arranged for you to sit back and unwind. When night falls you can draw the curtains and enjoy a show on the Smart TV. This lovely space flows into a dining area and then the kitchen, which includes a slimline dishwasher to make clearing up easy. Also on the ground floor are a restful twin bedroom and a shower room. The enchanting double bedroom is on the first floor, set under a high, sloping ceiling with skylights. Also on this level is an impressive bathroom, featuring a claw-foot bath with shower attachment. Leading from the living space, the spacious raised deck enjoys an incredible outlook over the Devon countryside. Steps lead down to a shared lawn, and 50 metres away there are picnic tables around a carp lake, shared with other guests. Private parking is available for two cars.

Beautiful walks surround the cottage, including pretty footpaths to the villages of Rawridge and Upottery, both 2 miles away. Visit the market town of Honiton (5.5 miles) and explore its antiques shops, cafes and museum, or discover the Jurassic coast, just 20 miles away, with its opportunities for fossil-hunting and wonderful beaches.

We recently spent a wonderful week at Stargazers View during an exceptionally hot spell, and it proved to be the perfect place to relax and unwind. The property has recently been renovated and now features a lovely new decked area, which was ideal for enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The cottage was spotlessly clean and extremely well equippeRead mored, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, and full cooker. The layout worked really well for us, with a double bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and a twin bedroom and second bathroom downstairs. The rear deck has a gate leading to a secure grassy area, making it a great space to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. Set at the top of a steep hill, the property enjoys stunning panoramic views across the valley, with visibility stretching for miles. The location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, with the only sounds being horses and sheep grazing in the neighbouring fields, along with the faint hum of the main road several miles away. Stargazers View is aptly named, as the dark skies make it a fantastic spot for stargazing on clear nights. There are several pleasant walks directly from the property, and it also makes an excellent base for exploring the South Coast, from Weymouth through to Torquay. This is without doubt one of the best holiday properties we have stayed in. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy peace, comfort, and beautiful countryside, we would highly recommend Stargazers View. Hide
