This delightful cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside in the heart of Mid-Devon. Located in the grounds of the popular Waie Inn, you’re invited to make the most of their facilities, including a shared swimming pool, a soft play area, an outdoor playground, a sports hall, fishing lakes and much more. Its central location makes it the perfect place from which to explore all areas of Devon, whether it’s the sandy beaches of East Devon, the rugged landscape of Dartmoor National Park or the beautiful city of Exeter.

You’re welcomed into this good-sized property by its attractive stone façade and private patio area, which is the ideal setting for sitting back with a cuppa or a glass of wine and enjoying the rural tranquillity. Stepping inside, a comfortable, homely feel has been created throughout with warm tones and pine furniture. There is an on-site pub offering good food, but if you fancy staying in, the kitchen/diner is well-equipped and has ample seating. The three bedrooms are king-size, twin and single and are minimally but comfortably furnished.

You may not want to leave the site with so much on offer, but if you do, there’s lots to see and do nearby. There’s Dartmoor (11 miles) for walking and breathtaking views. National Trust properties Knightshayes (23 miles) and Killerton (20 miles) provide stately homes and gardens to explore. For beaches, you can head south to Dawlish or south-east to the lovely seaside town of Budleigh Salterton. Finally, a day out in Exeter (18 miles) is a must with its shops, cafes and stunning Cathedral.

  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC; separate WC downstairs

Enjoyed a brief stay at the Waie Inn. The cottage was clean and well equipped. A pleasant pub on-site offering generous portions of delicious food. The location was ideal and the amenities perfectly matched our requirements.

Lovely place to stay. The location was rural and a car was required to travel to nearest villages or towns. Facilities on site were fantastic. Excellent as a base.

We had a very lovely stay at Waie Inn, Friars Cottage. The Waie Inn has lots for the children to do, indoors and outside. Most of it free if you are staying at the complex. Food is good in bar and restaurant. We will return I am sure.

We had a really comfortable and enjoyable stay for 2 weeks in one of the cottages. The kids loved the inside and outside play areas, so we made good use of these, along with the swimming pool. It was always useful to have somewhere to go to get a good meal too!
