Ideal for families, this modern, stylish lodge is located on the northern edge of Dartmoor National Park. Nestled amongst Devon’s stunning countryside, this lodge offers plenty of walking and cycling routes from its doorstep, allowing you to immerse yourselves in the rural lifestyle. Although it occupies a quiet location, the charming market town of Okehampton is only 2 miles away with plenty of historical interest and a range of independent shops and eateries. At the end of a day exploring, head home for a soak in your hot tub under the starry sky.

This lodge is beautifully finished in relaxing grey tones and contemporary fixtures and fittings, with floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors which create a bright and airy space. Accessed via a small flight of steps, you enter the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which allows you all to enjoy quality time together. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need, and when it comes to relaxing, there’s ample seating at the table and on the sofas. Completing the accommodation are two delightful bedrooms (one of which has an en-suite) and a family bathroom. Stepping out on to the terrace, you can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining before making the most of your private hot tub.

Located close to the A30, access to the area’s stunning scenery and family attractions is easy and convenient. Dartmoor has miles of walking and cycling trails, many of which wind their way through charming towns and villages such as Chagford and Moretonhampstead (within 17 miles). If you’re looking for something a little more spectacular, why not head to the National Trust’s Lydford Gorge (7.5 miles) or Castle Drogo (14 miles). Or for something a little more cosmopolitan that offers some rainy-day activities, head to the city of Exeter (27 miles).

Meldon lodge park is a wonderful place to holiday. It is on the rim of Moors. The lodges are beautifully presented with thoughtful equipment. The hot tubs are a bonus.

We enjoyed our 2nd stay at Meldon Lodges (Beech Lodge) but were disappointed this time. On arrival, bedding was dirty and damp; the owner responded defensively, asking why Id removed sheets (I thought, Why didnt you?). Cleaners later replaced them politely and apologetically. Only 1 towel pp felt mean, given the cost. Also, acorns/branches fell intRead moreo the hot tub, which was unsafe. A shame, as our 1st visit was perfect. Hide
