Cottages in Salcombe

Stunning Salcombe on the South Devon coast is known for its turquoise waters, laid-back beach life, beautiful countryside surroundings and lovely holiday homes, many of which we are proud to call our own. Some of our most unique builds, quirky interiors and luxurious holiday cottages are in Salcombe, making them perfect for a well-deserved retreat.

Within our Salcombe collection, you’ll find modern by-the-sea properties, rustic cottages, homes with enviable sea views, dog-friendly accommodation and cottages of all shapes and sizes. We also have a number of holiday homes in the nearby villages of Kingsbridge, Thurlestone and Hope Cove, but if you’re looking to be right in the heart of the action, many of our Salcombe homes are very central.

Things to Do in Salcombe

Salcombe is surrounded by beautiful beaches, but the main two are Salcombe North Sands and Salcombe South Sands. North Sands is dog-friendly all year round, but can only be visited during low tide, as the bay is totally submerged during high tide, so be sure to check tide times before you visit. South Sands has lots going on around it and is perfect for a beach day filled with fun, food, sun and sea. Bo’s Beach Cafe at South Sands is a staple of the Salcombe coast and offers canoe hire alongside their great select of tasty treats.

Soar Mill Cove is one of Salcombe’s best kept secrets and is another dog-friendly beach that has a beautiful, sandy bay. The beach is only accessible by foot and has no lifeguards, so may be more suited to adults and older children, but is well worth a walk down to on a clear day, as the views are unbeatable.

Speaking of tasty treats, Salcombe is known across the region as one of the best foodie spots. Across the town, there are a number of seafood stalls, fish and chip shops and fish restaurants, making Salcombe a paradise for those who love flavours from the sea. But there is a very mixed variety of Salcombe eateries, perfect for when you fancy a break from self-catering. Some of our local team’s favourite food and drink spots in Salcombe include The Crab Shack, The Victoria Inn pub, Botswain’s Burgers and dickandwills, a waterside grill and bar.

Salcombe is also known as a hub for yachting and sailing, and many enjoy wandering down to the quay to take in the views of the boats sailing out to sea. If you fancy getting in on the boating action for yourself, be sure to visit the friendly team at Whitesand Boat Hire. Here you can hire day boats, book onto an estuary cruise, or even go on a guided fishing trip with the team!
