Featuring a historic lighthouse, peaceful coves and unspoilt countryside, there is plenty to explore on a walk around the South Devon Area of Outstanding Beauty from hidden gems to iconic viewpoints. Dating back more than 400 million years, the geology in this area is truly fascinating with rocky reefs, jagged ridges and a dramatic shingle bar.

Across the bay, you’ll find a plethora of beautiful villages, including Slapton which is home to the fine shingle beach of Slapton Sands which stretches for 3 miles. What’s more, there is a unique nature reserve, Slapton Ley, which is inhabited by a spectacular array of interesting wildlife, flora and fauna. Whilst staying in one of our South Devon cottages, a visit to the iconic seaside town of Salcombe is a must for its breathtaking coastal scenery, wealth of independent shops and eateries and blissful beach.
