Enjoy a peaceful retreat with your loved ones at this luxurious lodge in a pretty complex tucked away on a stunning five-star estate in the Dartmoor National Park. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms, the layout of this lodge is ideal for families with young children or groups of friends who are looking for a stylish cottage to call home while they explore Devon together. During the day, explore the ancient woodlands at the stunning Becky Falls, visit the National Trust's Castle Drogo with its beautiful Hunter's Trail walk with spectacular views, stop in to the Warren House Inn on Dartmoor (the highest pub in Southern England, said to have had a fire burning continuously since 1845) for some light refreshments and in the evening, come home to enjoy a glass of wine on the gorgeous decked balcony while you take in the tranquil estate views. If your day out has been fun-packed and busy and you feel like a break from cooking, you can order meals from the main reception and have them delivered to your lodge

Enter this exquisite retreat and you’ll find a beautifully designed open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area where impressive high-beam ceilings and a stone-built central wood burner-effect fire create a welcoming ambience. Take a moment to soak up the mid-century-modern charm of this spacious lounge before making your way to the country-style kitchen/dining area to whip up some dinner. Gather everyone around the elegant dining table for a sociable meal, or head out onto the pretty decked terrace, fire up a BBQ and dine alfresco. Afterwards, head to the lounge area to treat yourself to a glass of wine by the open stone fireplace. At the end of the day, there are three stylish bedrooms to choose from. Upstairs, you’ll find an elegant king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, which includes a separate shower and bath. From the middle floor, descend to the left, and you’ll find a super-king zip-and-link bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, featuring a shower over the bath. Across the hallway, the third bedroom boasts a king-size bed, double doors leading to a small decked area, and an en-suite shower room. In the morning, make use of the amazing onsite facilities, which include a swimming pool, a spa with sauna and steam room, a gym, tennis courts and children's play area with swings and climbing frame.

Grab your binoculars and head to Fernworthy Reservoir (6 miles) to spot sandpipers, great black-backed gulls and common crossbills. History buffs in your group will also love seeing the remains of ancient Bronze Age hut circles. Alternatively, head into the charming town of Bovey Tracey (10 miles) for a wander about treat yourself to a delicious Devonshire cream tea at the chocolate box thatched village of Lustleigh (6miles). Further afield the coastal towns of Teignmouth (20miles) and Torquay (24miles) provide beaches and water-sports, and the city of Plymouth with its National Marine Aquarium (a fantastic attraction for adults and children alike) and the historic Barbican area with the Mayflower steps where the Pilgrim Fathers are believed to have left England on board the Mayflower ship in 1620 to cross the Atlantic and settle in America.
