Experience a peaceful retreat with your loved ones at this luxurious lodge, set within a beautiful complex hidden on the stunning five-star estate in Dartmoor National Park. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms, this is the ideal bolthole for families or groups of friends who want to escape to a stylish home-away-from-home to experience life in Devon together. Spend a wonderful day exploring the classic car museum in the beautiful market town of Moretonhampstead, and in the evening, come home to the lodge’s outdoor dining area to enjoy a casual al fresco dinner.
Enter this exquisite character stone lodge on the middle floor, and you’ll be greeted by an open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with beautiful oak beams. Take a moment to relax in the welcoming ambiance in the lounge area before heading to the country-style kitchen area to rustle up some dinner. Gather everyone around the elegant dining table for an informal meal, or head out onto the gorgeous front decked terrace, fire up a BBQ and dine alfresco. After dinner, head back to the lounge area to warm your toes at the open stone fireplace. At the end of the day, there are three inviting bedrooms to choose from. Climb upstairs to the middle floor and you''ll find the first bedroom - an opulent king-size room with an en-suite bathroom that includes a shower over the bath. On the top floor you’ll find the second bedroom, which features a zip-and-link super king-size bed and a spacious en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and bath. The lower floor is completed by a third bedroom, which offers another zip-and-link super king-size bed and a modern en-suite shower room. When you wake up in the morning, grab the opportunity to make the most of the estate’s on-site spa facilities, tennis courts, gym and swimming pool.
Spend a lovely day exploring the charming market town of Chagford (4 miles). Keep an eye out for the octagonal Market House, fondly nicknamed the ‘Pepperpot’ – the town’s central landmark. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the beauty and adventure at Canonteign Falls (10.5 miles). Challenge yourself to climb the 90 steps that lead to the top of the waterfall and you’ll be rewarded with panoramic country views. Further afield the coastal towns of Teignmouth (20miles) and Torquay (24miles) provide beaches and water-sports, and the city of Plymouth with its National Marine Aquarium (a fantastic attraction for adults and children alike) and the historic Barbican area with the Mayflower steps where the Pilgrim Fathers are believed to have left England on board the Mayflower ship in 1620 to cross the Atlantic and settle in America.
