Dartmouth Cottages

We may be biased, but our Dartmouth holiday cottages are some of the best in South Devon. Our apartments are modern, sleek and have some of the best views of the River Dart; our fisherman’s cottages often come with pretty little courtyards perfect for al fresco dining, and our large holiday homes are ideal for a big family gathering, or reunion of friends. Choose from dog friendly homes, luxury getaways, cottages right next to the beach and ones further inland close to the wild Dartmoor countryside. With Brixham and Kingswear, Totnes and Torquay all on your doorstep, Dartmouth really is the perfect South Devon destination.

When it comes to things to do, Dartmouth has it all: coasteering to kayaking, shopping to stately homes, seafood platters to cream teas. One of the area’s biggest draws is its coastline, and there are a number of sandy beaches to choose from. Blackpool Sands is close by, as is Slapton Sands, both expansive sandy shores beloved by locals and visitors alike. Castle Cove and Sugary Cove are closest to Dartmouth town and are overlooked by Dartmouth Castle. The sea around this area of South Devon is ideal for swimming and its azure coloured waters are akin to those in the south Europe – a little slice of paradise right here in the UK!

The castle has guarded the town now for six centuries and was used as a defense fort right up until the Second World War. The castle is now owned by English Heritage and is open to visitors, with plenty of history on display and a tearooms on site. To make your visit even more special, why not get there via the Dartmouth ferry, which can be caught from Dartmouth quay throughout the day.

When you don’t fancy using the self-catering facilities in your cottage (although they are fantastic), an evening in Dartmouth, or lunch out is definitely on the cards. Our local team recommend seafood lovers visit Rockfish, a local fish bar, for the freshest and tastiest seafood in town. For casual drinks in the sunshine, head to the fabulous beer garden at the George and Dragon. If it’s brunch you're after, Cafe Alf Resco is often tipped as the best breakfast spot in town – whatever you’re after, you’ll find somewhere to suit in Dartmouth.
