Holidays in Sheldon

Sheldon holiday cottages

Where better to enjoy a break in Mid and East Devon than by staying in a Sheldon holiday cottage? This scenic village is hidden in the Blackdown Hills AONB and is the perfect setting for all kinds of getaways, from romantic breaks to a group holiday with the dogs in tow. Our couple-friendly shepherd’s huts and family-friendly barns offer enviable features including hot tubs and enclosed gardens, and all are surrounded by gorgeous countryside, rivers and areas of woodland rich in wildlife. And the Jurassic Coast isn’t a million miles away either.

Sheldon is surrounded by wooded hills, meaning scenic bike rides and dog-friendly walks in undulating landscapes are available almost from the front door. The village lies just 2 miles from Dunkeswell Aerodrome, a former US Air Force base which is now a mecca for microlight pilots, parachutists and paragliders. The charming market town of Honiton (8 miles) is renowned as the antiques capital of the South West while nearby historic attractions include the Iron Age Hembury Fort (4.5 miles) and Blackbury Camp (15 miles). The centre of Tiverton (15 miles) is bursting with family-friendly attractions and water sports lovers will be in their element on the beaches at Seaton, Sidmouth and Beer (within 19 miles).
